Local home sales climb again; June up 26% over last year

The Grand Rapids Association of Realtors has reported that June home sales are up 26% over last year in June making it the fifth month in a row that sales rose. Sales are up 9% year-to-date and inventory is down to just under 10 months. However, foreclosures and short sales make up 53% of sales which affects the average sale price currently at $113,923. More than a quarter of the homes sold last month were priced below $50,000.
